Hotel Des Artistes

The hotel complex is located in a beautiful tourist resort, near the ancient Terina, historical and important city of Magna Grecia on the Tyrrhenian Coast in the center of Calabria. The complex with a direct view of the Tyrrhenian Sea, currently consists of a building inserted in a nucleus of residential tourist buildings. The complexity of the project and executive intervention consisted in the total recovery of an existing building, both in the structural and architectural field, adapting it to the new standards that requires a 4-stars hotel.

The intervention was also extended in the redevelopment of the external area of 20.000 sqm. The internal areas are about 3.000 sqm of the existing building; 4.000 sqm of adjacent lot for the extension of the existing building; 20.000 sqm external area with additional services right on the sea, such as outdoor pool, event hall, outdoor amphitheater and two playgrounds.

On the ground floor there is the reception, the lobby, the bar and the restaurant with the adjacent kitchen. From this floor you can access the outdoor terrace which in turn leads into the garden facing the sea, thanks to an important staircase.

The first and second floor have 32 rooms of different sizes, from single, double and family suites. On the top mansard floor there are 13 rooms, of which 7 standard suites and 6 unique duplex apartments. On this floor there is also the luxury suite of 100 sqm with a striking view over the sea.

The basement with sea view is equipped with several other functions such as: SPA, Conference Room and technical areas. The building can accommodate 163 beds. With the planned expansion it would arrive to a total of 250 beds.

The outdoor area consists of a garden equipped with other important outdoor functions. An octagonal event hall surrounded by nature is perfectly in line with the geometric principles of the design of this remarkable complex. In the sea path there are a circular outdoor pool and an amphitheater, while on one side there are two sports fields anf on the other a themed artistic garden.

The architectural style of the building reflects the historical stratification of the place, but reinterpreted in an elegant way.

The local stone in the curved part of the building, with a classic imprint, becomes a symbol of architectural memory of a land rich in history. Recalling this symbolism was important to give continuity to the architecture of the place, to the identity and tradition, which are the basis for the reinterpretation of the contemporaneity.
