Disìgu House

Located in Sant’Onofrio, in the province of Vibo Valentia, Calabria, the Disì Guarino House project by MGAD concerns the interior design of a first-floor apartment with a total saleable area of approximately 240 square metres. The project brings together generous shared spaces and private accommodation, organizing the home around a spacious living area, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a dedicated office. Particular attention is given to the relationship with the terraces and the discreet integration of service spaces.

The main living area forms the heart of the apartment, connecting directly with the dining room and kitchen. This sequence establishes a close relationship between cooking, dining, and relaxation, supporting everyday family life and the reception of guests. The generous proportions give the shared areas a prominent role within the home, while maintaining the individual character of each function.

The terraces are an essential component of the spatial composition. Two connect directly to the living area, extending its relationship with the exterior and introducing multiple points of contact between indoor and outdoor spaces. Their presence broadens the experience of the shared rooms, making the outdoor areas an integral part of the apartment’s daily use.

A spacious entrance introduces the interior and provides a transition towards the principal living spaces. Here, a textured wall becomes a defining architectural feature, incorporating the entrance to the generously proportioned guest bathroom. Its flush door is painted to match the surrounding wall, allowing the opening to blend into the composition and preserving the visual continuity of the surface.

The same attention to concealed functions characterizes the kitchen, where a cabinet door provides access to a large storage room. This solution integrates a substantial practical space into the kitchen composition, maintaining the continuity of the cabinetry. A separate laundry room further supports the organization of domestic activities, giving household tasks their own dedicated setting.

The principal bedroom is conceived as a suite, combining the sleeping area with a walk-in wardrobe, an en-suite bathroom, and an outlook onto a terrace. These complementary spaces bring dressing, personal care, and a connection with the outdoors into a coordinated arrangement, giving the main bedroom a distinct degree of independence within the apartment.

The remaining three bedrooms share a common bathroom, completing the private accommodation. Alongside them, a dedicated office provides a space specifically intended for work or study, accommodating activities that require a setting separate from the main communal rooms.

The interior design gives particular importance to the relationship between visible architectural elements and integrated practical functions. The textured entrance wall, the flush bathroom door, and the concealed kitchen storage demonstrate an approach in which individual details contribute directly to the organization of the home. Generous spaces for gathering are complemented by carefully considered provisions for privacy and everyday domestic needs.
